Program Description

Leading to an Intermediate Technical Certificate or Associate of Applied Science degree, the Dental Assisting program consists of competency-based classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction offered in conjunction with area dental offices. The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). After completing the program, students are eligible to take the National Dental Assisting Certification Exam, earning the credentials of Certified Dental Assistant.

Classroom and laboratory instruction includes front office management, aseptic techniques, patient care, dental materials, dental radiology, and dental anatomy. Clinical experience includes supervised hands-on dental experience.

All students entering into the Dental Assisting program are required to be current in CPR and fulfill vaccination requirements. See the program web page for additional information.
