Program Outcomes
The following are student learning outcomes for the Basic Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education at CWI:
- Graduates will use their understanding of young children’s characteristics and needs and the influences on their development to create learning environments.
- Graduates know techniques of observation and assessment and understand the appropriate use of assessment to support children’s growth and learning.
- Graduates know, understand, and use positive relationships as foundation of work with young children and their families.
- Graduate know, understand, and use developmentally effective practices to positively influence children’s learning.
- Graduates understand the importance of each curriculum content area and can teach essential early learning curriculum concepts.
- Graduates use their own knowledge and other resources to build meaningful curriculum that promotes developmental and learning outcomes.
- Graduates identify themselves as a member of a profession, have a plan for continuing education, and use the ethical code to guide practice.
